Electrical Engineer
Build the Future of Heavy-Lift Cargo UAS
Are you ready to bring your electronic designs all the way from idea to production, optimization and full-scale test? As an engineer with us, you get to do all of this. Whether this is your first or next career step, you’ll have the chance to grow your skills in a rapidly developing industry, and become an expert in designing and building electronics and avionics for our high-speed, heavy-lift cargo UAV.
Your Role
As part of our electronics team, you will develop key components for our battery management systems, avionics systems, flight control systems including test and monitoring systems. You will work on our prototype and on test key electronics systems for our next-generation cargo drones. The daily tasks may include working with embedded software, electromechanical components and high voltage battery and switching systems. You must be prepared for a high degree of hands-on work during development of prototypes and integration onto the airframe.
You will:
Develop key components and subsystems
Build and test prototypes in our electronics workshop.
Participate in the development and design of our avionics suite
Optimize prototype control systems based on Ardupilot and RML
Assist in the programming control loops and configuring
Assist in design of 800VDC inverter and ECU
Contribute to scale-up manufacturing processes.
Document designs and test results to support certification and compliance processes.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is curious, hands-on, and eager to work across disciplines. You should enjoy solving complex problems and turning ideas into working systems. You have a can-do attitude and are not afraid to work across multiple disciplines in small teams or on your own.
You likely have:
A degree in electrical engineering, robotics/drones, mechatronics or a related field
Experience with power electronics and embedded software
Knowledge about aeronautical controls and Pixhawk software suite.
Practical prototyping, PCB layout and workshop skills (previous work or work on own designs)
A problem-solving mindset and a willingness to get your hands dirty in the workshop.
Knowledge about RML and AI is a plus.
Experience with aerodynamics, lightweight structures, or propulsion systems is a plus, but not required.
